Bridgewood can only achieve its aims of being a responsive company building services around the requirements and choices of individuals with a staff team who support these aims and deliver them every day. That is why we place great importance on the recruitment and retention of good staff. We have a low staff turnover and aim to keep it that way.
We have our own training manager, Karen Knapik, who is an experienced social care trainer. We also have our own annual Training and Development programme and call upon skilled outside training providers to supplement our in-house training. Your training and development is very important to you and to us.
Our Staff Team
Within the first six months of joining us, our staff are trained in Epilepsy Awareness, Introduction to Learning Disabilities, Asperger & Autism Awareness, Down Syndrome Awareness, Dementia Awareness and the Mental Capacity Act. This gives them an understanding of the issues faced by the people we support.
We are committed to providing quality staff and ensure all our staff have the opportunity to progress their qualifications to diploma level using the Quality Credit Framework levels 2,3,4, and 5.
